Do you know when you try to make something and then it turns into something completely different? Well this is one of those times! I was trying to make my own version of pink valentine fudge, but this is not that. Ha! I didn’t like the grainy texture I was getting, so I added some karo syrup and it got a little more of a chewy texture. So instead of vanilla buttercream fudge, we’ve got vanilla buttercream candy! It’s got the texture of a buttermint, or maybe some kind of soft taffy or marshmallow but not so chewy. It doesn’t have a TON of overpowering flavor, just a sweet vanilla taste. I like it and the kids ate this up and begged me to make it again, so I take that as a good sign!
Vanilla Buttercream Candy
It keeps its shape really well so you can mold it, or cut it out with cutters if you would like to make it for Valentine’s treats. I will show you how I packaged it for the ladies I visit teach in a couple days! It’s pretty easy to make and just a few ingredients and most of them you probably have on hand. 🙂 You can use whatever color you would like or don’t add any color at all to make it for different occasions, I just used pink because of Valentine’s Day and all.
Tip: If you aren’t getting the texture you want, add more melted almond bark if it needs to be more smooth and more more sifted powdered sugar if it’s too wet. I think this would also be delicious if you added some strawberry or other flavor extract!
