Need a cute Halloween gift idea? Check out this cute Dracula Vampire Surprise Ball!
Still loving making surprise balls and I have a WHOLE bunch of Halloween fun to share with you! Today I am sharing this fun Dracula Vampire surprise ball filled with not so spooky little Halloween toys and treats. This little guy would make a great birthday gift for an October birthday, a fun game for a classroom party, and obviously perfect for a Halloween gift.
Supplies for Vampire Surprise Ball
Okay, so here is the thing about these surprise balls, you can literally put any little thing in them! Don’t feel like you have to stick to the stuff I used, I tried to get things that were more vampire in nature, but that is also not a requirement. I got my items from either Oriental Trading or the Dollar store, but have linked the same or similar items below if there is something you want to grab (affiliate links included).
- Red, Black and White Crepe Paper
- Halloween Rubber Duckies
- Halloween Fang Whistles
- Glow in the Dark Bat
- Halloween Kick Ball
- Halloween Pencil Top Erasers
- Strawberry Pop Rocks
- Google Eyes
- Sharpie Marker
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Tacky Glue
- Printable Accessories (you can get them at the end of this post)
- Printable Halloween Bookmarks (also at the end of this post)
Vampire Surprise Ball
To make a surprise ball, it always starts out the same. Take your roundest object and wrap with crepe paper. This will give you the easiest start to structure the rest of the ball.
Once every item is wrapped and covered completely, cut the paper and secure with a little dab from a glue stick.
Then take your next item and wrap it right next to the first wrapped object. You want to wrap pretty tightly to make a shape. I was going for more of an oval since it is a face shape.
Wrap your biggest items last. This time that was my Pop Rocks. I also like to use small cloth gift bags at this point that go with the theme so that the recipient has a place to put all of their loot!
After you have your head all wrapped in white paper, it’s time to add the hair. Use small strips of black paper and glue along the top of the head, it took me three overlapped pieces to cover the top and just over the edge of the top.
Next, take a piece of black paper and fold in half. With your scissors cut a small half circle shape leaving the corner intact. This will make the widows peak.
Wrap this piece around the black and glue at the back.
Next we need to make a little cape, and this is super easy. Wrap a piece of red paper behind the head and glue down. Leave about an inch and a half on each side.
Now you just fold those pieces back and secure with a dab of glue, leaving a loop on each side.
Finally add the face! I used tacky glue to do this part, but you could also use a hot glue gun. Glue on the google eyes, cut out the mouth and bat emblem from the Halloween Accessories page and secure. The bat I decided to kind of use as a bow tie of sorts, but feel free to use it elsewhere. If you don’t want to use google eyes, you could also use a Sharpie marker and draw on eyes. Print out the cute Halloween bookmarks and gift with the Dracula Like at First Bite one as a gift tag of sorts!
And just to remind you, this is everything that is inside that little vampire surprise ball! I feel that you should have a minimum of 5 items in your ball, but feel free to adjust and add as much or as little as you would like!
