It’s that time of year again! The yuckiest part of this season is the cold and flu season that tends to hit just about everyone I know. Luckily we’ve had it pretty darn good, but this year two of my boys are going to public school instead of staying home safe from kid germs. Let’s just say I am well aware our luck is about to run out!
I am prepared though! We are ready with cough drops, disinfecting spray, hand sanitizer and a large selection of movies so I can quarantine sick kids to one room and try to contain it when it ultimately hits. I also have boxes and boxes tissues…because NOTHING is yuckier to me than kids with runny noses wiping it somewhere other than a tissue. Shudder and gag.
When someone is sick, you feel so helpless! There’s not much you can do for them. I hate when my kids are sick. I also hate when my friends get sick, or their kids get sick and it’s one of those colds that just don’t seem to go away!
I thought it would be nice to have some “Feel Better” kits on hand for when that happens. Sometimes just knowing that someone cares can make you smile when that is the last thing you feel like doing.
I went to the store and gathered some supplies so that I would have some things on hand when my friends are under the weather. Hopefully, I won’t have to use these too much this year, but if sickness strikes I want to be ready with a little happy care package.
First of all, of course, is a good pack of tissue. You can never have enough! Don’t buy crappy tissues that make your nose red and raw. No one wants that when they’re sick!
Then I found these cute soup mugs that I thought could also double as a coffee, hot cocoa, tea or whatever warm liquid that your friend loves. How nice would it be to bring over some homemade soup (or heck even a good store-bought) with this cute mug?
Finally just a few inexpensive, but oh so appreciated items when you’re sick, some cough drops, lip balm, hand sanitizer (so you don’t have to get up and wash your hands every time you sneeze), and some lotion for dry hands (from washing your hands so much).
I made some cute and cozy “Feel Better Soon” tags to hang on the gift with some twine. You can print one out for FREE if you would like to make a sick friend care package, or a whole sheet if you would like to make a bunch for the season. Just print them out, tie them to a box, a mug or gift bag of goodies and you are going to win friend of the year award! Not to mention that your friend is going to feel super loved.
