I love making easy desserts for BBQ’s and potlucks and if they can match the occasion like these patriotic rice crispy treats, than by all means they should! These are super simple and adding the cute little flags is a fun touch that I’ll show you how to do with a few supplies from We R Memory Keepers. I used the Nesting Pennant dies to make the banner in the background for another project and the smallest one to make the dessert flags.
Love these little banner cut outs, they make making banners so easy with pre-cut holes to slide string through, or in this case toothpicks. Also it has a nice little embossed top that just screams for something to be added.
For the stars I just used a star hole punch that you can probably pick up something similar at any craft store or sometimes even dollar stores. I cut out a bunch of white card stock stars and used the Quick Stik to pick them up. LOVE this thing for placing small items like these on projects. It is SO much easier to get them in the right spot.
I added a dot of glue to each flag and then put the stars on top. Easy Peasy.
I slid toothpicks into the flags and popped them into my cute little treats all ready for a yummy Memorial Day BBQ yesterday. These will definitely be making an appearance on my 4th of July table as well!
