This past year has been the year of self evaluation and learning about how to create a life I love. One of the main things I’ve learned is how to set and achieve goals.
How to set goals that you will want to keep
The number one thing I’ve learned is that all of the things I thought I wanted…it wasn’t actually what I wanted. I might have thought I wanted to lose weight, make more money, finish a project, and if I got those things I would be happy. The problem was, when I “achieve” these goals, or try to achieve these goals it doesn’t feel like enough.
Goals are fantastic, and I am all about setting them, but first we need to figure out what we are actually after. At the end of the day, we are ALWAYS after a feeling.
There are lots of different areas of our lives that need to be thought about when we think about our whole self. I’ve condensed them down to five main areas; Spiritual, Social+Family, Physical, Occupation+Finances and Mental. How do you want to feel in each area? This is something to really ponder.
After you figure out how you want to feel, then you can figure out a couple broad steps or even measurable goals on how to achieve that feeling.
Download this printable goal worksheet and write down how you want to feel in each area of your life, and watch your life change!
Under those feelings, write a sentence or two of how you can get to that feeling. So, for example if you want to feel confident with your body, then maybe you could write; “Only say positive things about my body” and/or “Appreciate everything I love about my body.”
