Modern Farmhouse Bathroom Decor Ideas.
Now that the weather is cooler, we can no longer work in our yard…that is still not finished. We’ve been slowly working on our front yard this summer. The problem with DIY projects is that pesky Y.
Something we always seems to forget…Y=yourself.
When your husband works full time, you have four kids, a blog, decide to be PTO president AND have a house to keep clean…those projects take a lot longer than you want.
It’s a torture we willingly keep putting ourselves through though. In fact now that we can’t work outside, we are looking at remodeling my boy’s bathroom this winter. It also happens to be the main bathroom that guests use, so I want it to have a bit of masculine feel for the boys, but still grown up and cute enough that guests will feel comfortable there. The perfect marriage of feminine and masculine I feel is modern farmhouse, and I can’t wait to get started! I have put together a list of things that I feel like are essential to making a modern farmhouse bathroom.
11 Essential Pieces to Modern Farmhouse Bathroom Decor
01 | Free Standing Bathtub – This is first and foremost on my list, a beautiful freestanding tub. Freestanding tubs are timeless and are the perfect centerpiece for your farmhouse bathroom decor. This simple style is my favorite.
02 | Industrial Lighting – One thing that seems to be a common theme in all farmhouse bathrooms is industrial lighting. There are lots of options, I am really liking these dark ones for the boys bathroom.
03 | Greenery – Adding green to any room instantly adds life. My favorite ways to add green is wreaths…boxwood or magnolia are both excellent choices.
04 | Shiplap – If you watch Fixer Upper and love Joanna’s style, you know shiplap is very farmhouse and very on trend. Shiplap wallpaper is an easy way to get the look without adding boards or knocking out walls hoping to find the hidden treasure.
05 | Wood Floor – Another sure way to add farmhouse style is to have wood floors. In a bathroom…especially with boys that might not be too practical. Tiles that look like wood are a win win!
06 | Glass bottle soap dispenser – Accessories make the room and glass bottle soap dispensers are a great way to add that look.
07 | Cute Farmhouse Print – When decorating, go for simple. Lots of white space and cute typography is a perfect way to bring the look home in a cute print. Buy one, or DIY one…there are so many options.
08 | Metal Trash Bin – Again, when looking at accessories and decor, white space with typography is a great way to go…even on something like a trash can. This is a project you could do. Paint a metal can and stencil on it.
09 | Cute Mirrors – Builder grade mirrors are a no no in my book, either doctor those up, or find some cute ones with a farmhouse feel.
10 | Rustic Towel Hooks – Towel hooks over towel bars every time. This is one project you could definitely DIY.
11 | Furniture Style Vanity – Finally, another piece that always screams farmhouse is a furniture style vanity. You could either buy one, or find an old dresser to DIY into one.
What do you think? What else would you add to a Farmhouse Bathroom? I can’t wait to start on mine!
