It’s the first day of Autumn, and that means it is most definitely time for a fancy new fall wreath for the front door! I LOVE making wreaths, but I don’t do it often enough. I am trying to remedy this.
I decided for fall that I wanted a big wreath that could stand on it’s own without the need of hanging it from a string.
This 18″ grapevine wreath fit the bill perfectly, and they are inexpensive at craft stores. Bonus? They are totally perfect for fall with all the natural brown sticks and stuff going on! 🙂
I also grabbed some cozy blanket flannel, some gold and white ribbon, and some feathers in varying shades to give this baby a little pop!
I cut a 10″ strip of fabric and kept the width the same as the size of fabric. Then I grabbed some gold paper fasteners that you can get just about anywhere for mere pennies, and a paper piercer.
This is how I attached the fabric to the wreath. This saved a ton of time over sewing or hot gluing and gave it just the natural organic look I was going for. I love how they look like pretty little nail heads!
Just use a paper piercer to make the job a little easier or a sharp something if you don’t have a paper piercer and then just stick those beauties in there and attach.
I folded the fabric into pleats a bit as I went.
Then I just tied a bow and slid the feathers right on in there.
The final step was grabbing some jute and tying it across the length of the wreath.
A couple mini clothes pins and a card from the Harvest Albums Made Easy set from We R , and we’ve got ourselves a gorgeous little wreath for the front door!
I love this card set, I used it to update my DIY clipboards in my craft room, if you want to see how that turned out, I posted a pic on Instagram. Super cute!

Very cute and non-traditional wreath. I love that you incorporated some scrapbooking supplies in there! I love the WRMK Albums Made Easy line and I happen to have that very one too. I just may have to whip out my own version of this. 🙂
