I finally got my fall porch decor finished! Check! It’s taken me weeks of gathering, crafting and changing my mind. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to go spooky for Halloween or more fall that can go through the holiday and into November. I went with the fall option.
I so much wanted the exterior of my house further along this fall, but instead we focused on the kids bedrooms the last couple months. I am super happy with the progress we’ve made there! It looks like I will just have to make the best with my small porch and no rock on the front of my house for a few more seasons. I am super happy with how it turned out!
The open louvered shutters that I added inside have definitely helped the curb appeal, I would love to add some out on the front of the house, but it just won’t work with my box windows. They look good though inside huh? I am so in love with those!
The mums make me happy, I love having flowers on my porch, they make me smile every time I pull up. The giant pumpkin is from Costco, my kids each wanted one, but again, small porch and these things are huge!
My little porch box of course needed mini pumpkins…because pumpkins. Love pumpkins. The little owl is from Jo-Ann last year and the little house was something I got for my wedding shower and have pulled out every year and still haven’t gotten sick of it. If you know me, that’s a big deal!
I made the fall sign, and it took me only a few minutes. I love the statement it makes.
To make it you will need a scrap piece of lumber, or you can buy a new one. This one is a 1×10 and is about 30 inches tall. We have a few floating around in our garage. This one was already stained the darker brown, but if it wasn’t you could easily paint or stain it dark brown.
I cut out the word FALL on vinyl with my Silhouette at about 8″ wide each, and placed them on the board.
I then took some white chalk paint and just painted the front of the sign with a sponge brush along the grain. Once I had the desired coverage I immediately took off the letter vinyl. I didn’t need to sand it at all because I used the sponge to give it a distressed look already. It was so easy and turned out super cute!
What does your fall porch decor look like? Do you like to make it spooky, pretty or fun?
