Here are some fun fall mantel ideas to inspire, this can stay up from September till the end of November.
Decorating my mantel has become one of my most favorite things to do. I change it up so often that my best friends that come by all the time are always coming in and saying, “Oh, you changed it again.” I may have a problem. 🙂 I went with a very pumpkin theme for this fall mantel with some natural looking colors and textures added in. I LOVE how it turned out.
For this mantel I wanted to make it pretty rather than spooky…one of the reasons was so that it could transition easily into Thanksgiving. Really I could just leave it the way it is now and it would be just fine until we break out the Christmas things! If you can reuse things you love from month to month, then absolutely do that.
The little wooden pumpkin I got from Jo-Ann, the candle is a Bunko prize from Pier One, and the pumpkin tureen I’ve had for years, from Target. The banner is homemade made and the books are from my hubby’s bookshelf, I took the book jackets off and and found the ones in oranges and tans.
The three tiered tray is from Pick your Plum, I am using it all over the place. The metal pumpkins (candle holders) were a wedding gift from a friend who knew my obsession with pumpkins was going to last. I still have not tired of these cute little things! Then of course my Chatbooks always have a spot in my decor somewhere.
As you know, if I decorate my mantel then I must also decorate my piano. It’s one of those musts in life, an “if then” statement that your kids can use in school when they are learning about such things. You know if x=y then y=x or something.
The little greenhouse I have had my eye on forever and finally picked it up at IKEA, it hasn’t stopped being cute. The candlesticks are another favorite and well used purchase from Walmart (the Better Homes & Garden line has some super cute things!).
The twigs are from my tree, the straws are from my collection…I admit I have a problem there. I have a whole drawer full of pretty paper straws no one is allowed to use for what they are actually for…they are just for me to admire and put in jars apparently. I’m fine with that. The I love ya Pumpkin tag I made and you can print it here.
