I am sharing the tutorial on how to make these easy DIY Farmhouse Style Book Crates, including the template for the stencils can be found on Oriental Trading’s site Fun365.
Do you have books lying around that just need a spot? Do your kids check out books at the library and then you are digging through the playroom or looking under beds trying to find them the day they are due back? No? Just me? Welllll then, maybe you just want some cute farmhouse style and these book crates make you smile. Whatever your reason, these are super simple and look cute on pretty much any surface! I even have one on the floor next to the piano holding my kids practice books, and guess what? Cute.
DIY Book Crates
My daughter uses two in her room on her nightstands, one to keep the books she’s currently reading (which is always between 3-5) and then the other to put the books she needs to return the various libraries she borrows from. She is definitely her mother’s daughter!
I have them in my dining room on my little side table because when it is too hot to be upstairs in my craft room I sit in the dining room to work. It’s fun to add farmhouse style with these little touches. If you like adding this kind of style to your home, or you’re not sure if it’s quite your style, these little projects can quickly add the style to your home without breaking the bank…and can easily be changed out if you find it just doesn’t suit you. The most important thing is that your style is represented in your home, and when your are trying to find it, projects like this are perfect to try it out!
