Hiya there! I know it’s been pretty quiet here this summer, but you all know how it is when you just want to soak up every last drop of precious non-scheduled glorious time. This summer has been full of fun and exciting things over at the Making the World Cuter house. Lots of remodeling projects going on, organizing projects, recipes, and decor items. I will have lots to post…in fact I’m a little overwhelmed with it all!
My goal for the summer was to work in my yard. I wanted to plan out a garden calendar and have a beautiful fall bounty. You can find garden calendars on the websites of some gardening sites or supermarket chains such as Tesco.
Well that just didn’t happen. Again. Instead, we thought family was coming so we halted all plans of outdoor work and got to work remodeling kid bedrooms to accommodate the extra bodies. Well they didn’t end up coming, but our kid bedrooms are looking amazing…just a few more details and projects before I can share those.
One thing that we did do in the yard this year is play lots and lots of bean bag toss. We had an ice cream party at our house with all of our friends at the beginning of summer and about an hour before; I asked my husband if he could whip up a DIY bean bag toss game. Being the rock star that he is, he totally made an awesome one while I sewed some easy bean bags. Everyone had such a blast playing that my mind started spinning with ways to customize them.
Then my bloggy friend Ashley asked if I wanted to contribute to one of my most favorite blogs on the whole wide interwebs Make It & Love It, and gave me free reign of whatever I wanted to post. I knew that I wanted to share this fun game. My kids really wanted a pirate themed one, so I obliged. How much fun would these be in your favorite sports teams colors though? Perfect for tailgating this fall right? I know my sister and brother in law would love to have in Seahawks colors with the logo on there. They are obsessed.
You can see the full tutorial on these DIY bean bag toss games over at Make It & Love It, and be sure to watch her blog next week for a fun tutorial I have on an easy fall fashion accessory that would also make a great gift for all of your girlfriends!
As for my garden and yard…you just wait, this spring I am going to be on it! You will be so impressed.
