These totally cute surprise ball gift ideas are perfect for so many occasions!
I am declaring myself the Surprise Ball Queen! It has been so fun making these, and have SO many more in the works. I hope you guys are loving them as much as I love making them…and as much as friends and kids love opening them! We have made a ton of these lately, and 6 of them have been published so far, so I thought I’d put them in a round-up for you, so that you can see how fun they are.
For those of you unfamiliar with surprise balls, they are basically just tiny little gifts wrapped up in layers of crepe paper. I took it a step further and made them much more cute than just a ball!
Surprise Ball Gift Ideas
The one that started it all! I knew right away that I needed to make a unicorn surprise ball! This one is published over on Oriental Trading’s Fun365 which is super convenient because they have the cutest unicorn items to wrap up. My cute little niece pictured below was the lucky recipient of this for her birthday. The squeals, giggles and thank you’s that came out of that cute little mouth is what made me excited about making more of these.

If you’ve looked around my site at all, you know that I love teachers and making little gifts for them. This apple surprise ball is for the kids though! What a fun gift to start the back to school year, or to give to your favorite little bookworm. It would also be awesome to make these for your star of the week if you are a teacher, or let a student unwrap until they got to a gift for good behavior! So many fun ideas for these! Also published over on Oriental Trading’s Fun365 (Oriental Trading has such great little trinket toys and prizes that make surprise balls a piece of cake!)

As a mom to three little boys we have a lot of shark attack and shark week talk at my house. Making this shark surprise ball was so fun and perfect for any little boy or shark loving girl. The fun thing about this little guy is his prizes all come from the dollar store! You can totally make a surprise ball for under $10 and have a super fun one of a kind gift!

You may have also noticed if you’ve looked around that I am OBSESSED with Disneyland! (Check out some of my Disney posts). We go every couple of years, but if I could have my way we would go way more. Obviously Mickey and Minnie surprise balls were on the docket! These ones come with free printables. You can choose to surprise someone with a trip to Disneyland or Disney World with one of them, or you can just give a fun Disney themed gift. If you don’t have the ear headbands, there is also a template to make your own ears! So many possibilities with these! Also on Fun365.com.

This Sunshine Surprise Ball I made for a friend who’s daughter was getting married. She had a lot to do and deal with that I couldn’t physically help her with and I thought a little pick me up would be appreciated. It really was, and I have the free sunshine gift tags here on the site that you can use on any little gift idea! All the items in this one are either yellow or orange and found at Target. So you can see that these don’t have to just be for kids! I shared this one over on The Crafting Chicks for their random acts of kindness week.

Finally these little Football Surprise Balls are one of my favorites. Again, I have 3 boys at home and they get invited to birthday parties. Having these on hand has been sooo awesome for those. The kids that get them are thrilled and everyone else at the party thinks that they are so cool. They just keep getting more and more presents the more they unravel the strings, what’s not to love about that? Again, I shared these over on Fun365.com because they literally have the most fun and amazing selection of football items. These would also be so fun for a Superbowl or tailgating party wouldn’t they?
