I know I just posted my fall wreath, but once I make a wreath, I need to keep making wreaths, they are just too much fun! I think this is one of my favorites to date! This Halloween wreath adds just the right amount of spook with the skull and the bats while still staying cute and not too creepy for the kids. It was super easy to put together too, so that is a bonus!
Halloween Wreath
I started with a foam wreath, and a couple spools of coordinating ribbon. I got this from Jo-Ann.
To start the wreath, I usually use a pin instead of hot glue, because I never know if I am going to need to change things as I go, or if I will get tired of the wreath some day and want to reuse the form.
I wrapped the wreath in the two spools of ribbon, and it took all of both of them. The wide one was 1.5 in x 9 ft, and the thinner one was 5/8 in x 12 ft. I found some purple ribbon in my stash, and this cute little glittery guy I picked up at Jo-Ann as well. I just hot glued him right on top and it glued the purple ribbon in place too.
Now comes the fun part! I pulled out my Evolution Advanced, and my favorite Halloween die cut, these adorable bats. I made this “Bat-Mobile” a couple years back with it. I also pulled out some card stock in black, purple and orange.
I cut the bats out and folded them on the lines, and then went to work making some spooky colored roses. I have a tutorial on how to make those HERE. Super easy and fun way to add some practically free embellishments to a wreath. 🙂
The final step was adding a card from the Albums Made Easy kit Bewitched (such a cute set!) that I hung with some mini clothes pins and some black and white bakers twine. I pinned the black bats to the ribbon so that I knew they would stay put and not fly away, and I hot glued the roses and the purple bat on to the ribbon.
I am kind of in love with it! What do you think? Have you made a Halloween wreath?
