Sometimes it’s fun to change it up on the front door, and this Christmas sled decoration door hanging could be just the thing to cuten up your entry.
I am super happy with my new front door Christmas sled decoration! Plaid Crafts sent me a bottle of Mod Podge Extreme Glitter, a brush and some FolkArt paint to make something for the Holidays and I went right to work finding something to make sparkle!
Christmas Sled Decoration

I went to my local craft store (Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts in case you were wondering!) and found this darling unfinished sled and a bucket of these adorable white jingle bells. I painted the top of the slide a creamy vanilla and the runners red, after much discussion with my husband and sister trying to decide on colors.
I then painted on the chevron stripes using this tape. A little bit of a trendy twist on a candy cane stripe! 🙂
I added a little vinyl “Be Merry” that I cut out on my Silhouette while I was waiting for the paint to dry. Then I went promptly to work with my nifty little Mod Podge brush that eliminates most brush strokes…seriously one of those things you don’t know you need until you have it, and then you think, “how have I gone this long without it?” kind of things. This is my first time using this extreme glitter stuff, and let me tell you…they aren’t lying! This is EXTREME glitter! Love, love, LOVE how sparkly everything is!
It’s hard to see how glittery it is in pictures, but here is a close up hopefully showing you a little better!
I used some twine to tie a bow and hang the bells from, I used a nail to hang them from the sled. I also changed the rope to some twine and added a burlap bow when I hung it on my door.
Sparkling and adorable if I do say so myself! 🙂

Your sled is awesome on your door, love, loving it. I’d have hubs cut one out for me but our weather is turning wintery ugly tonight or tomorrow. We don’t have a garage or basement so it’s working outside. Don’t think I’d want to so can’t very well ask hubs to. I’ve always wanted a sled to hang up for Christmas but I’ve spent all my craft supplies budget already. Guess it’ll have to wait for next year. Always wanted ice skates to hang on sled also. Maybe he could cut some of those out also, fake it.
Your sled turned out so great. Enjoy it on your door, looks fantastic. Happy week
