Join me for a little Christmas housewalk over at my place!
Every year I look forward to seeing everyone’s cute holiday homes in their holiday housewalks. They are always so filled with cuteness and holiday spirit! I love to get the chance to share my home as well!
Welcome! Come on in! From the front door this is what you will see.
If you turn to your right you will see our main Christmas tree. My husband and I argue every year…and I really just need to stop. He LOVES going out in the woods to cut down a tree, and I would love nothing more than to get a nice full fake tree that I can put up two weeks before Thanksgiving! Ha! We can never find one that is full enough for my liking, this one isn’t too Charlie Brown, so I am trying to bite my tongue as much as possible. 🙂
I love throw pillows as much as the next person but with three rowdy boys, the pillows NEVER stay on the couch long, so I can only have one or two per couch. That just makes me super selective. This Santa from Pocketful of Paint is my absolute favorite.
My ornaments are red, black and white this year. I love putting big tags and sayings in my tree…it helps hide the giant gaps. Haha!
Christmas Mantel Decor
Moving on from the tree, we can see the mantel. This year I went really simple and sweet. Focusing on the reason for the season.
The Willow Tree Nativity will always be my favorite I think. The simplicity and pureness of it is just so peaceful. A giant farmhouse star and the wood cut out, Joy, from Target on the shiplap finish off the look.
The stockings were made by me and the tree lanterns are from Oriental Trading.
Christmas Piano Decor
Left of the mantel is my white piano. Again I went simple this year, and took out a lot of the fuss that I’ve had from years past. The deer are the ones that nearly everyone has from Costco…for good reason, they’re so pretty! The Merry is another cut out from Target I picked up at the front of the store for $3! A glass bucket of silver bells and a silver mercury glass candle orb brought in the silver from the kid’s trees that stand on both sides. I finished it off with a boxwood garland, lights and a string of white and gray pom poms.
The silver trees, like I said are the kids trees. Each kid has their own that they put their ornaments on that they make at school or church and then each year we give them one on Christmas Eve to match their theme. My daughter has snowmen, my oldest boy has Santa, middle boy has reindeer and baby boy (not so baby anymore at 6) has trains and cars. It’s so fun to see their little collections grow each year and how excited they are to pull them out and remember. Makes a mama’s heart swell.
From my living room, let’s walk into the kitchen…but first turn around and take a quick look back at the living room. That red rosette wreath is one of my favorites. I got it at Target last year.
In the kitchen, we have a few little Christmas-y touches.
Christmas Kitchen Decor
My three tier wooden tray is ready for dessert, grab a plate and a cup for a Christmas cookie and a cup of eggnog…if you like that kind of thing (not me, but the rest of my family is addicted).
I even have my soap all pepperminted out, with this yummy smelling goodness from Mrs. Meyers peppermint soap. If you can find it still, I recommend getting it! The spray for the counters is my favorite, makes the whole kitchen smell delicious!
On the breakfast bar I have my cute Christmas Tree print, some sparkly deer, Santa’s cookie plate, my favorite cookie jar and my metal three tiered tray.
This three tiered tray has become one of my favorite things to deck out each holiday. If you want to see it for Thanksgiving and Halloween be sure to check out my other home tour posts.
Some close-ups of the layers…
Finally we’ll walk into the dining room from the kitchen.
Christmas Dining Room
The first thing you’ll see is the pared down hot chocolate bar. Usually I have a grand set up, but again I went for simple this year. Just the necessities. It’s so nice to have everything right here, so while we are playing a game at the table we can get up and make a cup when the mood strikes.
The centerpiece is just white roses and some lanterns on a wooden charger. Feels wintery and we can easily move it when we get out the games.
On the other wall is our little buffet counter that is all set up for our 25 days of Christ and #lighttheworld supplies.
I set up my big grateful board and got some ornament hooks to hang all of the pieces on it. For the #lighttheworld we find out what we are doing each day, and then hang the numbered tag on the board after we do it. I love this space to reflect, and be a calming place for my family.
Thank you so much for joining me on my Christmas housewalk this year! I love decking the halls so much, and hope you enjoyed it. 🙂
Merry Christmas Friends!
