Hello sunshine! I am sooo happy to start feeling the warmer weather creep in, and I am loving all the springy crafts and decor popping up everywhere! I made these fun watercolor resist Easter egg canvases with my kids and shared the tutorial over on Make It and Love It a few days ago. They were super easy, and turned out cute enough that I will actually use them in my decor this year! They would also make great gifts for grandparents and teachers!
With this warmer weather that means lots of DIY home projects ready to start! I’m ready to be crowned the kitchen cabinet kings but my husband is SO ready to start on the yard that we have been ignoring since we moved in, besides the obvious water and mow. I want to do the yard too, but my kitchen remodel gets me all excited as well. I am torn.
All of our inside DIY projects have taken over our lives, and I love every single second of it, but I will say that while we were thinking of building our own islands and cabinets, I am now leaning toward RTA kitchen cabinets just so that we can get the job done. Since I am just doing lower cabinets and then open shelving on top…it would be nice to order and install them quickly and then I won’t be torn anymore. We also have to knock down a wall though…and it’s a structural one, so I am going to have to get a beam installed, and that equals money. The hubs said we can do it all right now if we don’t do Disneyland this year…but I love that mouse too much to pass up on that trip! Grrr! It’s hard being an adult and making decisions isn’t it sometimes?
I am decorating for St. Patrick’s right now, but I am getting ready for Easter too, pulling out past projects and seeing what will make the cut for this year. Here are a few that will definitely be making an appearance…
My Personalized Chalk Paint Dipped Easter Buckets are still one of my all time favorites in the history of ever! They were less expensive than the baskets or buckets in the Easter aisles now, totally customizable in the kids favorite colors and personalized! I love these! (And be sure to check out why the eggs match the buckets!)
This cute Burlap Bunny is definitely coming back out. I love this little guy, and my daughter made several other designs after I made this, of eggs, ducks, chicks and monogram letters that she gave out as gifts to her aunts and grandmas for them to hang up. Total love, and SERIOUSLY one of the easiest DIY projects ever.
I know we’ll be playing a game or 100 of Don’t Eat Pete with this free printable I made…especially since we can use Cadbury Mini Eggs as the candy this time of year. Play time never tasted so good!
I’m sure I will be referencing last year’s Easter Mantel, this was before the shiplap wall was painted white, I don’t regret painting it at all, but these pictures remind me why I was debating it…that natural wood is dreamy. I will definitely be bringing back the bunny wreath and the white bunny…interested to see what else will make the cut. I’m always as surprised as anyone else since I change my mind 45 times in the process of mantel decorating! Ha!
And finally we can’t forget to make delicious treats like these Cadbury Mini Eggs Magic Cookie Bars! I made these using 5 ingredients and what I used for the crust will surprise you and rock your world. I must go make these now, so that I can make friends and influence people and then take over the world! Maniacal laugh, maniacal laugh! 😉
Looking forward to making lots more cute Easter things this year, and coming up with new ways to eat those mini eggs! What is your favorite Easter project?
