Welcome, welcome to my home! With the big holiday only being a few days away, I thought it high time I show you my valentine home decor that I’ve got peeking around seemingly every corner of my house. This is such a fun holiday to decorate for, the colors are fun, the hearts are fun, and love is fun! Everything is fun!
I’ll start with my front porch, it’s been so windy the last few days that I’ve had to take this stuff off and on several times to keep it from blowing all over the yard, or worse. I decided to go pretty simple here. I just added this heart door hanger that I got at Real Deals. The Happy Valentines Day on my porch box is from the Target One Spot, and the three wooden signs I think I got at Jo-Ann for a steal. The wire hearts I made years ago for a banner, and I pull them out every year and put them somewhere. I love them.
When you walk in, you are standing in my living room. Don’t worry about taking off your shoes…we’re putting in hardwood floors next week, so I’m not too concerned about the carpet. You are probably looking at my mantel. It’s cute right? I am really excited about it.
We’ve already discussed the Valentine mantel, so we’ll move on. On the other wall you see my newly painted piano. (You’ll also see a basket of throw pillows, I will show you how I made most of those tomorrow! :))
I always decorate the top of it, so let’s get a closer look.
The H is just wrapped in twine, the frame is an inexpensive one from Better Homes and Gardens, inside is a Teresa Collins Albums Made Easy Journaling Card, LOVE that kit. The flowers are in a flour jar I got at TJ Maxx and the wooden plaque is a project I made at a Super Saturday with a free printable from How To Nest For Less.
The love blocks I made from scraps of wood, paint and vinyl letters probably 5 years ago. They are always around, not just on Valentines day it seems. I just move them from place to place. The basket is from Better Homes and Gardens and is the perfect spot to store my Chatbooks and a cute little wood plaque that I got at Jo-Ann. Speaking of Chatbooks, did you hear they have a new web app? You can now make books from your laptop or computer instead of just on Instagram! I am so excited about this! I have an overwhelming amount of photos that are about to be sent their way to make these great little books! 🙂
The big print above the piano is one of my favorites of all time. It was a valentine I made to send out to all the grandmas, aunts, uncles and cousins a couple years back. I just printed it from Costco on an 11×14 for just $2.99 and clipped it to my DIY canvas clipboard.
You remember those right? I made a bunch for my craft room…I change them out all the time. Right now they have more of those journaling cards that I mentioned earlier from Teresa Collins.
Just in case you are wondering how to make one, they really couldn’t be easier. You just get a canvas bigger than your print size and a cute clothespin.
Heat up your hot glue gun and attach it with some of the clip hanging over the top for easy changing without bending up your canvas. Voila! Easiest project that can make such a cute statement in any room! 🙂
Now turn away from the piano and you’ll see the kitchen straight ahead. The first thing you will see is these cabinets that I moved from the middle of the kitchen and opened it up, and my madeover free cabinet from Craigslist.
You’ll notice the cute little matching wood plaque hanging on the wall, and the vase with aspen branches with the heart banner strung between them. You may even notice in my unfinished open shelves that I have some cute valentine conversation hearts plates from Michaels on a plate display from Ikea. Simple.
If you turn from that you will see my Eat sign gallery wall. You’ll see the first of three pieces of chalkboard art hanging on my menu board. I added little pink cut out hearts to the existing banner. You’ll also notice my memo board filled with the vintage kitchen valentines that I shared a bit ago.
You’ll also notice the fridge with this chalkboard on it, more valentine chalkboard art that my stepson loves to lean against while texting and erase portions of…I’m constantly fixing this one. :/
Right past the fridge is my dining room where we will end this little tour, and you will see our love letters station first thing. The heart stockings will probably be overflowing with little notes and treats for everyone. Such a fun tradition!
Before we head out to the back doors and say goodbye, look up for the last valentine chalkboard art sign. And I do. I love you like a fat kid loves cake!
You make me smile…and salivate. Yes, it’s definitely time for you to leave. It’s getting weird.
