EEEK! So, this turned out super cute! I got some cute stuff from Jo-Ann to work with #TheBigBling supplies again, I will be sharing more about that tomorrow, and knew I needed to make a brag board. My daughter is super into hedgehogs right now and while browsing for supplies at Jo-Ann I found this cute little guy in the pre-painted wood piece area and fell in love with him. I grabbed a piece of crafting plywood from the wood aisle and hurried home to get to work!
Light Up Brag Board
The first thing I did was cut the board to size and paint it with chalkboard paint.
While I was waiting for that to dry, I cut out a speech bubble with pink vinyl using my digital cutting machine. These moon lights from Jo-Ann are battery operated with LED lights in them so they’ll last a super long time. To attach them I just used flat headed push pins and when I couldn’t push them in anymore I used my crafting hammer to get them in all the way and secure the light strand.
To attach the cute little hedgehog I just used glue dots and some dimensional foam pieces and I had him hang off the edge a bit. The reason I did this was so that I could have the battery pack hide underneath him. To attach that, I used a set of sticky back velcro dots, one on him and one on the battery pack. Then it can just tuck up underneath and easily be pulled out to turn the lights on and off.
I added some cute pink clothes pins and some dimensional stickers to the top of the push pins and twisted the end of the lights into a circle. It’s all ready for my cute girl to hang all of her A+ work and her favorite pieces of art. Be sure to come back tomorrow to see it in her homework station that I put together for her. 🙂
