I have been having lots of fun creating art for my new craft room! I made this fun glitter art using some gold glitter heat transfer vinyl from Expressions Vinyl. I LOVE this stuff, all the cute of glitter without the mess! I used some canvases that I had sitting around waiting for something cute to be put on them and plugged in my Silhouetted and got to work.
I cut out a couple of arrows, and then the word create out of one of my favorite fonts My Own Topher. When you cut out words you need to make sure you cut shiny side down and mirror the letters so that you can lay them down right.
Then you just use a piece of white cloth between the iron and the transfer and place it on the canvas where you want and voila! Cute art ready to be hung.
I did two arrows because I liked them so much. They point down to my big work table, so I think they’re perfect.
For the last piece I just cut strips with my paper slicer and then arranged them how I liked them. I cut the edges at an angle to make a kind of nautical looking flag. I am planning on getting blue and white striped window coverings so I think a little nautical cuteness is in order. 🙂
Finally I hung them on the wall together in a little gallery of sorts. It makes me super happy to look over and see all that sparkly gold on the bright white!
If you look closely in this picture you can see another bit of art I will be sharing next week, and a little bit of my big old work desk that I love so, so much.
Have you ever used heat transfer vinyl? What projects have you done with it?
