This week has definitely had a bit of chill in the air…in a good way. When summer comes I always forget how much I absolutely love fall. I just want it to stay hot forever; until September hits and then I remember! Is there a better season to decorate for? I don’t think that there is. This is the time that the door starts screaming for a new burlap wreath don’t you think?
For this wreath I just grabbed a wooden wreath from the dollar store and then ripped some light burlap into strips. I decided to do a tie wreath. All you need to do is tie the strips in a knot until you have enough to cover the whole thing.
I tied a bow of a darker burlap to attach to the top. The whole thing took me about 10 minutes to complete. That’s my kind of project!
Although it’s cute how it is, I wanted to add a little Halloween fun to it. I loved this quote I’ve seen all over “A Witch and her little monsters live here with one handsome devil.” That about sums our family up! I made this cute and understated printable with the quote and attached it to an 8×10 canvas with brads.
To add just a little more color and whimsy I made a quick little bunting by cutting diamond shapes out of scrapbook paper and gluing them over a piece of string. Confession: it’s dental floss! I wanted something thin, and my twine was a little too thick. It’s got a minty fresh scent.
And done! My front door is ready for fall and Halloween!
