Today, we’re making an easy turkey decoration for your upcoming Thanksgiving celebrations!!!
Tom Turkey Candles!
Materials needed for this craft are:
- Pillar candles (I used two from the sale section at my local Wal-Mart)
- Turkey stencil (I made mine with my Silhouette SD, but you could use a store bought stencil as well, or cut one with scissors)
- Spray paint
- Ribbon
The nice thing about using vinyl as a stencil is that the back is sticky… You can stick it to your candles without any other adhesive. In this photo you can see I used a little paper to make sure the candle was completely covered aside from the part I wanted to paint.
I spray painted a few thin layers on my candles letting each layer dry thoroughly in between. This way the design on your candles won’t be sticky. {I didn’t spray them on my kitchen table, FYI… haha. Just let them dry there.
}
Once your spray paint has completely dried remove your stencils and accent with ribbon around the bottom. I attached the ribbon with dabs of super glue so it wouldn’t slip off, but also tied it in a cute knot a the back.
Now you can display your Tom Turkey Candles for Thanksgiving!
Happy holidays lovelies!!!
