It has been cooling down outside but interestingly enough things have been warming up in the fashion world. Trends with big personality – fur, giant studs, jeweled embellishments, velvet and calf hair, just to name a few. Summer allowed us to to play it up in the bold color department with bright neon’s and beautiful prints but now things tend to be toning down a bit. Color is still a big part of this season on the runways but it all seems to be paired with simple and classic outer wear and accessories.JEWELRY
I love my collection of wild statement jewelry, but for fall I love the simple pieces. Ones that have character and a personal touch. I could say I am in LOVE with initialing. A loved ones initial is sweet and dainty. Arrows and geometric shapes are still huge and so fun. As is mixing up your metals…. add some gold to your jewelry collection!!
HEAD AND NECK
Don’t be scared to try things out of your comfort zone. I never liked hats, I have a ton of hair and I couldn’t always make them work. KEEP TRYING!! There are some super cute hats and hair accessories out there that fit all head sizes and hair styles. One accessory in my closet that almost exceeds my shoes is my scarves. I love them. My advice in the scarf department is to try not only all different styles, colors and prints on your scarves but to also try all different materials. From thick chunky knits to luxurious silks, there is a scarf for every occasion.
BAGS AND PURSES
Over-sized bags. Clean lines. Leather. All of these are handbag trends this fall. I already told you that Burgundy/ Oxblood is the new black for fall, and everyone is continuing to talk about it. I can’t stop obsessing – it’s just such a rich, lush color that goes with practically everything. Want to wear blacks with it? Great. How about if you love brown colors? Perfect. This is a color that complements so many different ensembles.
Play with your accessories. Layer your jewelry. Try things your brain thinks you can’t pull off. Just have fun with your accessories.
And of course I just couldn’t leave you without sharing this AMAZING video on 25 different ways to wear scarves. I have gone to this video often for help when I am in a rut. It’s a must see!! Enjoy.
