I apologize for this going up so late! It was a long week and by last night I was just ready to getcozywith my pillow. What have we been up to this week? Well I’m glad you asked, first this happened. So I had to do everything from my laptop. Which wouldn’t have been that big of a deal, but my kids do online school and their Mac decided that it didn’t want to hook up totheinternet anymore wirelessly with the new router we had to get because my old one wouldn’t work securely. Iwouldhave used my husbands laptop but his monitor went out a while back and we haven’t fixed it because we already had the others. Not a great way to start off a new school year online with two kids needing a computer full time, a mom who needs a computer the way some people need their morning cup of coffee and a preschooler who wanted to play all the learning games we had found online the weeks before.Grrr. When it rains it pours. Well now I have a pretty new Dell sitting on my desk and this week should go much smoother. It’s amazing how dependent we’ve come to be on computers and technology isn’t it?Anyway that’s why it’s been so quiet on the blog front this last week. Then two weeks ago I NEEDED my school room organized and built, and it needed to be done before school started on the fourth.Let’s just say Pinterest can be hazardous to husband’s weekends.
It took a little longer than we expected and though it wasn’t done before school started, it was functional enough to be able to have a more organized first week. We finished it Saturday night, and I am really excited to show you how it all turned out! I am in love with our space now, it’s just a little window nook in our bonus space upstairs, and it is my favorite place now!A little sneak peek of our working school room on the first day of school…
Along with making my youngest a big boy bed to match his brothers, and turn their beds into bunk beds so that they all fit in the bedrooms, the power tools have had a busy couple of weeks. While my husband was doing things that only one person could do, I was moving my daughter into her baby brother’s old room and organizing my new guest room. I also went through all of my kids clothes, and simplified. We live in Central Oregon, and it’s considered the high desert, so although it is still considerably warm during the day it cools off quite a bit at night now. I haven’t had to break out the ski jackets and mittens yet, but that chill in the air is definitely a sign of fall coming to the Northwest. YAY!
What’s your weather like where you are? Are you still sporting bathing suits or are you hitting the slopes? Or are you starting to see the signs of fall like we are and getting excited for tights, sweaters, pumpkins and beautiful leaves?
Last week we had so many great link ups! I had a really hard time picking our Cute & Pinworthy post for the week. I chose this one because, wow, I want one, and because we have been building and organizing like crazy here too, so that’s where my head is right now. Be sure to pin this project for when you feel like your hubby needs to play with some tools…or if you are a power tool player yourself, you just might want to make this your next weekend project!
