5 ways to spice up your NAILS this Fall

I’m not a very political person ( how awful of me ,I know) and even though I didn’t watch the speechtheFirst Lady gave at the DNC last week I did however hear all about her nails. Didn’t you?

She wore a purple-grey color that is described by Artistic Nail Design as a “grey/lilac (iridescence/sheen).” That same company sells this polish named Vogue and I am sure by now the color is flying off the shelves everywhere andout of stock online.

Crazy the attention a little nail color is getting right? That made me think about all the other hot colors and nail trends for Fall and which ones I need to stock up on now.

Fall Nail Trends

I have been hearing people all over raving about the Shellac manicure craze.

This new revolutionary product is changing the way women get their nails done. Shellac Nails are a bit like acrylic nails because they last for weeks with out loosing shine, getting scratched or chipping. Find a salon in your area that does Shellac Nails and book an appointment ASAP.

Try putting a texture on your nails! This next idea is in keeping with the polka dots trend and is easy and sweet using Opi’s Silver Shatter and Skull and Glossbones.

Or get creative and try some design. Adding matte strips on nails using Essie’s “Matte About You” topcoat gives a subtle and sleek effect.

And if your looking for something a little more fancy but sick of the french mani, look no further… With just a little glitter nail polish on the brush, start at the tip of the nail and brush back over a solid nail color. Beautiful.

So here it is, I couldn’t leave you without telling you the top predicted nail color for Fall 2012… according to Harpers Bazaar .com Dark and Stormy is what to watch out for.

They said backstage manicurists threw their support behind classic shades of rich burgundy and midnight blue that picked up on the strong, feminine attitude of the collections. Keep your nails short and square with rounded corners and apply two generous layers of lacquer finished with a glossy top coat for a take-charge effect.

What are some of your color shade go -to’s and which new trends do you want to give a try?

I’ve been trying to amp up my nail routine lately… mostly with different top coats, like a glitter, or crackle. I love dark shades though and how they look a bit more fun than a plain old red or pink.
