Polka Dot Stenciled Wall {Cutting Edge Stencils Giveaway / Review}

I LOVE Cutting Edge Stencils! They have the best selection of quality stencils I have seen on the web. I was very excited to try out the Polka Dot Allover Stencil on this little alcove wall in my baby’s room. It was just screaming for some kind of attention!I decided to make it a little grungy, since it’s for a little boy, and polka dots can look girly if they are too perfect. I chose a gray and didn’t go too thick on the paint. The stencils are really easy to use, especially with the stencilrollerand level that they also sell on their site. To keep a continuous design, just line up the stencil on the previous dots and you’re good to go. I found using a thumb tack along with the painters tape helped keep it on the wall a little better.Here is an easy to follow video to show you how to apply the stencil;

About an hour and half later I had my polka dot wall and I was in love with the results.I put the rocker and his toy shelf against the wall and he went right to work taking everything off the shelf. Don’t you just love the added personality the stencil added?It will be easy to paint over when we end up moving, and since it’s a stencil… I can do it again in his next room.There are so many possibilities with the polka dots, furniture, fabric, floors and of course more walls. Who wants to win their own stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils? They are giving away a $50 gift certificate to one lucky Making the World Cuter reader!Just follow the instructions in the entry grabber below (if you are reading this in your reader you will have to click over to the actual blog post)...it might take a moment for the widget to appear. 6. This is sooo cute!! I love love love the wall. Stencils are still a little difficult for me, but I’m trying to tackle them.
    I’m a little scared to do an entire wall with them, but I’m starting slow, and this definitely helps make it less scary.

  10. This is too darling! I NEVER would’ve thought polka dots would work in a boy’s room, but you so pulled it off! What a lucky boy to have such a fun room and it’ll be easy to repaint as he grows. Or, as you said, when you move.

    I just ordered the fruit trees (but I’m not using the fruit that comes with them) and birds from Cutting Edge stencils. When I decided to paint my great room, all the neighbors and my readers on FB were upset that I was painting over the forest of trees I’d spent weeks painting freehand. Until recently, I had no idea that easy peasy stencils even existed!
